Winston A. Henderson

My Facebook friend Winston A. Henderson wrote a wonderful message to wish me Happy New Year and I was so moved by it, I decided to share it with you. I also wish all that Winston has written to me, for all my relatives, fans and friends. HAPPY NEW YEAR with lots of love!!!

Pleasant day, Blessed 2009 and a Prosperous 2010 everyone!

I pray the New Year has found everyone in high spirits. It is a new year and as such we should expect new beginnings and new, better things to come. As the New Year rolls in we should follow suit and strive to become new people for the better in every way possible and necessary. Whatever has happened in 2009 let it stay in 2009; it’s time to brush yourself off and come ready to take control of 2010, and it is with this attitude great things will come through great expectancy.

With that said; it’s been awhile since we have been heard from, but consider it the calm before the storm. WE have many plans for 2010 and the calendar for this year has already been put together so we have a lot of work to do.

However, our efforts are pointless without the proper support in place, as all of you are our strength. Consequently, we are counting on everyone to offer support where they see possible. J-ReP is dedicated to see a positive change in our nation and the world, but first it needs to start with each of us.

Thank you for your support thus far and all the best for 2010.

Life has its ups and downs, for me it has been mostly up and that is because of the wonderful people in my life who support me in everything that I do.

To my real friends and colleagues who are honest with me and maintain their integrity no matter what, thank you for your support throughout 2009.

To my best friend Warren Campbell, thanks for putting up with me in the last year. You have assisted me in so many ways to make my personal and professional life what it is today. Thank you my friend and all the best in your future endeavours.

Welcome to this month’s issue of our newsletter which greets you in the colors of our national flag in honour of our country’s 47th Independence. Have no fear, we will return to our normal Manning’s colors in the next issue but this month was all about Jamaica.

So, let’s kick things off with our first feature story. Now imagine you’re driving through Savanna-La-Mar on a Saturday morning and you’re listening to the radio. It will most likely be Vybzfm, the community station, and you’ll probably be hearing an intelligent, smooth and sophisticated “Lady” playing some sweet music. The voice emanating from your speakers, is most probably that of Gillian Larmond aka Lady ……… well, let’s just keep it a mystery for the time being.

Gillian attended Manning’s between 1981 to 1985. She did not go on to 6th form but instead went to Montego Bay Community College to study business. Gillian still has vivid memories of her time at Manning’s e.g. One afternoon, during lunch break when she was in her classroom studying for a test that was due to take place immediately after lunch.
