A picture tells a thousand words – This is a Mystery

This picture was taken in 2007 when I just started locking my hair, those days I had extensions on because my hair was really short. As I recall the top I was wearing was white, but Warren Campbell revived the old pic, changed the color of the top to blue and add this beautiful background. Thanks Warren I love it. Its lovely.

Wonderful encounter with Management of Flava Squad Entertainment

I had a wonderful day today, indeed I can safely report that I’m blessed to be a member of the Jamaican Entertainment Industry. I have the privilege of meeting some of Jamaica’s talented entertainers and promoters.

Ewan McRae - Flava Squad Entertainment

Today I go a visit from the Ewan McRae of Flava Squad Entertainment, who I found to be a wonderful person and an outstanding businessman.

The meeting was about my involvement with promoting their latest project, HYPE 2K10 Stage Show, which will be held in Black River, Jamaica on April 3. I also happen to be one of the advertising sponsors. The event is being advertised on my entertainment blog – Entertainmentvybz.

The Event:

Flava Squad Entertainment the promoters of HYPE 2K10 promise to make this year’s staging of their annual stage show a most memorable event; despite the pressures of the current economic recession the chief organizer of the event Ewan McRae is adamant that his company will be staging a great event come April 3rd at Independence Park in Black River, St. Elizabeth. Therefore he and his team have put together a very exciting package for Hype 2K10 because they want to give patrons good value for their money. Read the rest of this entry »

Marijuana Use Can Up Psychosis Risk

The use of marijuana in some countries can get you up to life imprisonment, (depending on whether you are a user or trafficker) as it is seen a harmful drug, but the government of these countries need to pay attention to what some scientists studying the plant are reporting.

Marijuana can be used to ail or cure numerous health issues. I could go on to show that it is useful in other areas too, but in the article below the author is reporting that “Marijuana Use Can Up Psychosis Risk”. Yes it is possible and you will see findings of the study in the article. But let me ask this: ISN’T OVERUSE OF ANYTHING AT ALL HARMFUL TO OUR SYSTEM? Think on these things.

The Article was published by HealthDay News, on Saturday February 27

Long-term use of marijuana can lead to increased risk of developing hallucinations, delusions and psychosis, a new study shows.

Australian researchers asked nearly 3,100 young adults averaging about 20 years of age about marijuana use. They found that almost 18 percent reported using the drug for three or fewer years, about 16 percent for four to five years, and just over 14 percent for six or more years.

Among the participants, 65 had been diagnosed with a “non-affective psychosis” such as schizophrenia, and 233 had at least one positive item for hallucination on a diagnostic interview conducted for the study.

The researchers found there was an association between length of marijuana use and mental health. Read the rest of this entry »

Web Publishers Left With Little After Middlemen Split Ad Spoils

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) — Publishers fighting hard to squeeze every last dollar out of their onlAine-ad inventories have turned to a variety of players to help them make the most of that space. But in doing so, they’ve let a lot of hands into the cookie jar and may find that the increasing complexity — and the crumbs they’re left with — aren’t worth the effort.

It’s not just publishers turning to middlemen but advertisers, too, hoping to boost targeting and effectiveness of their buys. The space between advertiser and publisher has become jam-packed over the last decade, with literally hundreds of ad networks, data companies, yield managers, ad servers and exchanges all purporting to serve advertisers or publishers in some unique way; but all have their own business models that may or may not be adding value to either. And they’re all dipping into the display-ad revenue stream.

In a not-atypical scenario, a publisher may only receive $1 of a $5 cost-per-thousand media buy once all the middlemen have taken their tithes. Where does the rest go? According to an estimate from Tolman Geffs, co-president of investment bank Jordan Edmiston, it gets divided like this: The agency ($.75), ad network ($2), data provider ($0.75), ad exchange ($0.25) and the ad server ($0.25).
