My Team Brazil Sent Home By Netherlands

The Netherlands beat my team Brazil 2–1 today in World Cup Action and sent them packing. I can just guess the sweet taste on the lips of all the persons who actually bet that the Netherlands would beat Brazil. What an upset, who would have thought?

Well I certainly don’t bet. All teams are there with one intention and that is to win. So who says Brazil is unbeatable?

Congrats Netherlands, now that very important win should boost the team’s ego to go all the way and win the finals. Really funny but let’s wait and see.

Okay a good soldier always go to war prepared for instances such as this, so as a good soldier I have my back up plan. Oh yes, my PLAN B … Germany and Argentina, they are my back up plan. So now I’m relying on one of them to at least advance to the World Cup Finals.

Ahhh, I can’t stand defeat but I have to concede and not shed a tear about the Brazilians loss today. I have decided not to shed a tear because in the last three games they were not playing good and were getting too many cards (both red and yellow). But nonetheless I started out cheering for Brazil, Argentina and Germany so I want be a waggonist.

Now the big deal in my home is that my beau is cheering for Netherlands. Now can you imagine the agony he is putting me through? First it started when Netherlands equalized with Brazil (1-1), there was the phone call. My, My can you imagine when they scored one more and moved to 2-1? It was worst when he finally got home (which I think was in a rush) to begin celebrating and teasing me at the same time.

But Netherlands look out one of my teams coming back to clip your wings (heels) and then I will finally have the final laugh. Well then I will be celebrating with RED STRIPE BOLD (Beer).

Michael Thompson always remember that in most cases the last laugh is the best. Lol. Love you.

Delveland Mango Festival 2010

The annual Delveland Mango Festival in Delveland, Westmoreland Jamaica will be held on Sunday May 30, in the community. The event is a community based project which was initiated to showcase creative ways of using the fruit. Mango is a seasonal fruit and this time of the year the fruit is harvested all over Jamaica. Delveland is known for and has become very popular because of the abundance of Graham Mango plants in the community. It was with this realization that the community decided to host this event to invite mango lovers to the community to let them see how mango can be utilized in various ways to make enjoyable, delicious by-products.

Of all the display booths that will be at the event I’m sure most patrons will be checking out the Boston Style Jerk Mango Dish, which will be introduced for the first time in the history of the festival. Think about Boston Style Jerk chicken and pork, which is very popular and craved by Jamaicans and visitors to the Island and imagine what it would be like to finally taste Graham and other mangoes prepared to wet the appetite and the taste buds.

Ernie Smith Biography

Ernie Smith (born Glenroy Anthony Michael Archangelo Smith, c.1948, Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae singer, with a deep baritone voice, who had his greatest success in the late 1960s and 1970s.

Smith was born in Kingston and raised in St. Ann. He initially (unsuccessfully) sought a career as a radio announcer, but then approached Federal Studios looking for work as a songwriter, ending up recording his songs himself. Recording initially in an easy listening style, Smith’s first chart success came in the late 1960s with “Bend Down”, which was followed by Jamaican number one hits in “Ride On Sammy,” “One Dream,” and “Pitta Patta”, all produced by Richard Khouri at Federal, the latter based on Lee “Scratch” Perry’s “Musical Transplant” rhythm, which was voted the best song of the year in Swing magazine. In 1972, he won the Yamaha Music Festival in Japan with “Life Is Just For Living”, a song originally written for a Red Stripe commercial. Read the rest of this entry »
